Description:
The Northwest Indian War, also known as Little Turtle’s War or the Ohio War, was a conflict from 1785 to 1795 between the United States and a confederation of Native American tribes with support from the British, fought primarily over control of the Northwest Territory. The war concluded with the Treaty of Greenville in 1795, where Native American leaders ceded substantial portions of territory in present-day Ohio and Indiana to the U.S. government, paving the way for American westward expansion.
