The Second Intifada (sep 28, 2000 – feb 5, 2005)
Description:
Caused by perceived provocation by Israel and the failure of the second Camp David Summit, mass unrest and violence spreads throughout the occupied territories. By the end, at least 4,300 people are killed, with the ratio of Palestinian to Israeli deaths being more than 3 to 1. There is no widely agreed upon ending of the uprising, however, violence began to fade out following the death of PLO leader Yasser Arafat.
