Mobilization:
Total War:
- brought out of Great Depression
- War production Board and Office of war mobilization
- Labor shortage -> shift to women and POC
- troops still segragated
- Propeganda: Liberty bonds, Women! (WAC)
- Low unemployment, high incomes, high savings
- ended great depression
- internment camp: Japanese Americans of all ages, Korematsu vs. US (argued unconstitutional against 5th amendment, lost)

Labor:
- Labor shortage
- More unions but more restrictions, no strike pledge
- Little steel formula, 15% limit on wage increases
- Over 15000 work stoppages (wildcat strikes)
- War labor disputes act

Stabilization Economy:
- Anti inflation act
- enforced by office of price administration
- Retioning: coffee, sugar, butter, shoes
- Huge National debt: 100B in bonds to citizens and financial institutions, tax revenue act (1942): 94% for highest income bracket

African Americans in WWII:

US most powerful nation on earth
- others rebuilding
Yalta Conference: decided Germany would be seperated
- Stalin promised that after war Germany could decide<- Lie, took it as buffer zone
- Marshall Plan: helped euro. rebuild, worked
- United Nations in effort to prevent future wars
