Berlin Blockade (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
France, Britain and the USA combined their three zones in Germany to form West Germany. Stalin wanted Germany to remain weak so he put forward the Berlin blockade, cutting off supplies from West Germany. Airlifts were organised to overcome the blockade, and Stalin eventually called it off due to its inaffectiveness.
