Description:
The Soviet-Afghan War was fought between the Soviets and the Mujahideen. It was a guerrilla war that took place in the countryside of Afghanistan. The mujahideen were supported by the U.S which made it a "Cold War proxy war". Many civilians were killed and many fled the country. The Soviets then elected a new general secretary of the Party.
