Tet-offensive (jan 30, 1968 – sep 23, 1968)
Description:
The Tet Offensive was a series of coordinated attacks by the North Vietnamese of the South. They attacked over 100 cities in attempt to gain a following and create rebellions in the South. The South Vietnamese and U.S. forces were able to push back the attacks, and due to news coverage, the U.S. public was shocked and began to support the war. This event marked a turning point in the Vietnam War and the slow withdrawal of American troops from the country.
