Berlin Wall (aug 13, 1961 – nov 9, 1989)
Description:
The Soviets created a barbed wire and concrete wall separating East and West Berlin with guns men. The wall was made to prevent mass emigration from East Berlin to West Berlin. The people in West Berlin were starved and deprived of everyday essential, leading to the Berlin Airlifts. The Berlin Wall to this day remain one the largest symbols of the Cold War and a physical symbol of the Iron Curtain.
