Berlin Airlift (jun 26, 1948 – sep 30, 1949)
Description:
The Western Allies (France, Britain, and the U.S.) carried supplies, and food to the people of West Berlin who were barricaded in by the Soviet Union. They dropped around 8,893 tons of necessities per day and over the course of a year, flew over 200,000 flights to west Berlin. The Soviets didn’t intervene in fear of started an open conflict.
