King Louis XVI (jan 1, 1754 – jan 1, 1793)
Description:
King Louis XVI was the king of France during the French Revolution. He and his wife were executed by the revolutionaries. He attempted to be an Enlightened despot, but was not able to satiate the crowds of France before they killed him. His downfall was likely brought about by the beginning of the Enlightenment.
