Vietnam War (nov 1, 1955 – apr 30, 1975)

Description:

The Vietnam War was a direct result of the First Indochina War between France because it claimed Vietnam as a colony. The war was between the North and South. The Vietnamese tried to become a communist state; however, the U.S. feared that if Vietnam became a communist state, all of the countries surrounding would as well. The war cost hundreds of thousands of lives and lasted almost two decades. It finally ended when the opposition to the war in the U.S. was ever growing. Because of this, the U.S. pulled their troops out of Vietnam.
