Stonewall Riots (jun 28, 1969 – jul 1, 1969)
Description:
The stonewall riots took place in June of 1969 at gay clubs in New York. It began when the police raided the Stonewall Inn and a subsequent riot took place because of the raid. These riots continued for the next 6 days in the local area and served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement. It shows not only the involvement of the younger generation to make change, but also the action of the oppressed to go get their rights.
