Amelia Earhart Flight (may 20, 1932 – may 21, 1932)
Description:
This was the first time that a woman flew solo across the Atlantic. It took her 14 hours and 56 minutes nonstop. This was important because it was such a big deal and it demonstrated how women were capable of doing anything that a man could. It was also good to have a good role model for girls and all kids in America to look up to who was a woman. This was important because it gave women the hope that they could make a difference too and it wasn't just up to the men, much like Rosa Parks would do about 20 years later.
