Vietnam War (nov 1, 1955 – apr 30, 1975)

Description:

This war was between the North and the South Vietnamese governments, the North being supported by the Soviet Union, China, and other allies of the communists and the South was supported by the US, Australia, and other allies. A lot of people believe that this war was related to the Cold War and was not justified because of how the United States got involved. They fought a guerrilla style warfare, with intricate tunneling systems underground that allowed them to escape the US soldiers. After years of fighting, the US ended their involvement in 1973, largely related to the anti-war protests going on in the states. The capture of Saigon by the North Vietnamese in 1975 officially ended the war.
