Battle of Britain (jul 10, 1940 – oct 31, 1959)
Description:
This was considered to be the first major military campaign fought entirely by the airforce. It was fought by Britain’s Royal Air Force against Germany’s air force called the Luftwaffe. The Luftwaffe bombed British air bases, military posts, and even the civilians by the end. But, the British population held strong for months of bombing and ultimately won the battle with the help of the Royal Air Force.
