The Emancipation Proclamation (jan 1, 1863 – jan 1, 1863)
Description:
Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was a brilliant move not only morally and politically, but also militarily. In one act, he weakened the Confederacy, emboldened his troops, gained public support for a war that wasn’t going well, and made it harder for foreign nations to justify helping the Confederates.
