Operation Rolling Thunder (mar 2, 1965 – nov 1, 1968)

Description:

The American bombing campaign during the Vietnam War was called Operation Rolling Thunder. The purpose of this bombing campaign was to put military pressure on the North Vietnam leaders. This went on for about 8 months. The bombers could bomb so far into north vietnam because of fear of China getting involved. They could only bomb things like oil reservoirs which made things difficult when north vietnam began putting them under ground so the bombs had no effect on them
