The Montgomery Bus Boycott (dec 5, 1955 – dec 20, 1956)

Description:

The Montgomery Bus Boycott took place after the Rosa Parks incident where she refused to give up her spot on the bus to a white man and was arrested. Afterwards martin luther king organized rallies to support rosa parks and decide to boycott the montongrey public buses. The boycott in total lasted around a whole year when people of color refused to ride the public bus and would walk everywhere instead. The Boycott ended when they passed a law desegregating public buses and they all got the justice they were fighting for. By seeing how the bus company was open to change, people with disabilities started fighting for a right to even get on the bus because at the moment they had no access to public transportation.
