Woodstock (aug 15, 1969 – aug 18, 1969)
Description:
Woodstock was a three day long music festival that took place in upstate New York. It was held on a 600-acre farm, and when thousands more people showed up than expected, the directors of the festival decided to open the gates and let everyone in for free. While Woodstock remains an iconic symbol of the hippie movement, many of the performers also used it to protest against U.S. involvement in Vietnam.
