Tet Offensive (jan 30, 1968 – sep 23, 1968)
Description:
The Tet Offensive was the beginning of the withdrawal of U.S. troops. The Communist North Vietnamese forces launched a series of attacks on over 100 cities and outposts in South Vietnam during a Vietnamese holiday, surprising South Vietnamese forces. While the U.S. and South Vietnamese forces somewhat held off the attack, the Tet Offensive turned American public opinion more strongly against the war.
