Greensboro Lunch Sit Ins (feb 1, 1960 – jul 25, 1960)
Description:
The Greensboro Sit Ins, which took place in 1960, were staged by a group of college students in Greensboro, North Carolina, who sat down at an all-white Woolsworth counter and refused to leave after being denied service. The Greensboro protest continued for many months, but also inspired a movement of Sit Ins nationwide, that were effective in creating change during the Civil Rights movement.
