Freedom Rides (may 4, 1961 – dec 10, 1974)
Description:
The Freedom Riders were African American and white civil rights activists who made a statement against segregated bus terminals by riding through the South on buses. They also tried to use white-only facilities throughout the South to make a statement. They faced extreme violence from whites in the South, but their cause drew a ton of attention.
