Description:
The Bay of Pigs was an american attempt to overthrow the newly established communist government in cuba. They thought the best way to do this was to train and arm Cuban rebels who were in the United States at the time and send them back to Cuba to fight. The americans helped but never fully supported the attack therefore it ended up failing because this lack of interest by the US. This lead, Castro to call the USSR for help leading to the cuban missile crisis.Added to timeline:
