Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1953)
Description:
During the Korean War, The US became involved through supporting the anti-communist government. The US supported this side in order to stop the further spread of communism. Truman ordered troops stationed in Japan to support South Koreans to show military strength. Truman also send the US fleet into waters between Taiwan and China. The outcome of this war was Korea being split into 2 sides. North being communist and the South being democratic. This event increased the fear of communist aggressions and prompted a hunt for US citizens who could be blamed for communist gains.
