Craftsmen Required to Educate All (jan 1, 1772 – jan 1, 1838)
Description:
This was less of an event and more of a time period that signified importance for other races becoming more educated. During this time period, craftsmen were required to teach their apprentices and servants how to read and write, regardless of the color of their skin. Organizations including the Quakers also supported educating slaves, albeit in smaller numbers.
