Description:
Nationalism: During World War I, the UK government agreed in letters with the Sharif of Mecca to support Arab independence in a significant area after the war. In return, the Sharif launched the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire. This exchange is known as the McMahon–Hussein Correspondence.
