Medieval Era (jan 1, 476 – may 29, 1453)
Description:
The fall of the Western Roman Empire, saw the invasion of barbaric tribes into western europe. From this, Medieval Civilization went through a series of crisis's compared to it's predecessor. Though, as time went on, Musical Innovation began here. As the Catholic Church solidified it's authority across Europe, Religious music became a common theme, and would in itself bring about changes to musical society and notation over time. Secular music though, less common would also take root (Especially during the Protestant Reformation).
