Description:
The First Battle of Bull Run was a wake up call to the North as they thought that it was going to be quick and they were going to storm the South. This showed president Lincoln that they needed a lengthy war plan. The North was succeeding with the first steps of their plan and winning important battles with Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. Lincoln speech at Gettysburg was one of the best in American history and making the war also about freeing slaves; this eventually led to this. The war had a great effect on the economy, the people and peace, maintaining of union, women and more.
