Amendment of Regulating Act or Act of Settlement (jan 1, 1781 – dec 31, 1781)

Description:

- Jurisdiction of SC was defined - within Calcutta and on the inhabitants of Calcutta --> administer the personal law of the defendant --> Hindu as per Hindu law and Muslims as per Mohammedan law
- Exemption of G-G and executive council from the jurisdiction of SC. Similarly, servants of the company are made immune if they do anything while sharing their duty
- Excluded the revenue matters and matters related to collection of revenue from the preview of SC
- Laid down that appeals from the provincial courts to be taken by GG and not SC
- GG can frame regulations for Provincial courts and Council
