The Romans conquered Judah, not once, but twice. (jan 1, 63 BC – jan 1, 135)

Description:

After the taking over, the Romans renamed Judah to Judaea.
In 66 CE, a Jewish group known as the Zealots successfully revolted against Roman rule. Unfortunately, the Romans retook Judea after four years and destroyed the second Great Temple - all that remains is the Western Wall.
73 CE - the story of the ancient fortress known as Masada. (We will go over this in class)
135 CE - the Romans crush the final Jewish revolt - forbade Jews to ever live or visit Jerusalem - also rename Judah to Palestine.
