Description:

- Title: Duke of York (New York was named after)

- Brother of Charles II

- Has two protestant daughters (Charles II forces him to do this before dying in order to make sure that all are happy)

- Roman Catholic (first wife was protestant but she dies soon after he becomes king- he then remarries to a Roman Catholic because he can do whatever he wants as king)

- Appoints Catholics to high office

- Catholic son named heir (son with second wife)

- Almost all of England supports him
