Second Intifada (sep 28, 2000 – feb 8, 2005)

Description:

The Second Intifada was a violent conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians that lasted from September 2000 to February 2005. It started as a protest in Gaza against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, and it soon escalated into a full-blown uprising.

During the uprising, hundreds of Palestinians were killed, and many more were injured, while dozens of Israelis were also killed. In response to the violence, Israel built a security barrier between itself and the West Bank, and it launched a series of military operations into Palestinian territories.

The Second Intifada also caused significant damage to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, which had started in the 1990s. Despite numerous attempts at negotiation and mediation, the conflict continued until the end of the uprising, with no solution in sight.
