Description:

The Berlin Airlift could be called the first battle of the Cold War. After WWII Germany was divided into four parts between the Allies and Soviet. Berlin was also splitted into four parts but the Soviet wanted full control over the. When they blocked the city many people were starving and US and Great Britain flew around 277,000 flights into West Berlin that carried over 2.3 million tons of supplies. In 1949 Soviet stopped the blockade.
