Description:
The Striking Miners hold the Mines for almost four months before negotiations begin to open. Before they can get far though, an explosion rocks the Mine. The remaining upper floors collapse, killing many and trapping more within. Rescue efforts are made but over 100 miners are killed. Later investigations suggest the explosion might have been intentionally caused, though by who and why is never uncovered.Added to timeline:
