Mycenaean Greece (jan 1, 1750 BC – jan 1, 1050 BC)
Description:
Centered around the city of Mycenae, this culture represented the last Bronze Age Era of Ancient Greece. Linguistically their script known as Linear B is the first written example of Greek and their culture, religion and cities bleed through into the culture of classical Greece.
Built around imposing fortified palaces, their culture flourished for centuries and they traded with others throughout the Ancient world.
Stories of the days of Mycenae would inspire later story tellers such as Homer's Iliad and Odyssey which portray a coalition of Mycenaean states warring with the city of Troy.
