Stuart (jan 1, 1604 – jan 1, 1714)
Description:
After the death of the childless Elizabeth I, the throne of England went to the King of Scotland, James I, who was a descendant of Henry VII of England through one of Henry's daughters.
They would rule for over a century through turbulent times, with Charles I being executed during the English Civil Wars and the monarchy expelled for years until its restoration after Oliver Cromwell's death.
The monarchy returned but were restrained more and more as time went on, until by the end of their rule in 1714 England was truly a constitutional monarchy.
