Mexican Expulsion Decrees (jan 2, 1827 – apr 14, 1835)

Description:

The Mexican Gov. created expulsion decrees to target the Spanish clergy. Spain was trying to reconquer the Northern Territories through the expansive mission system throughout the land. However, in Southern Arizona most missions were in decline since the wars except for San Xavier, south of Tucson.
