Edgeworth's Future (feb 25, 2017 – mar 12, 2019)
Description:
Due to the surmounting insecurities and pressure around his prosecutorial career alongside several significant revelations in his life, Miles Edgeworth had drafted what seemed to be a suicide note and disappeared from the public in March 2017. While most had believed that he committed suicide, Edgeworth had actually spent a year on self-reflection and remained solely in contact with Detective Gumshoe.
After his first year away from United States courts, Edgeworth returned in March 2018 to help investigate the high-profile Engarde murder case. In a devastating turn of events, Franziska von Karma was gunned down the day of the trial and Edgeworth was requested to stand in her place. Edgeworth left the country once again shortly after the trial's conclusion, this time with the intention of learning the court systems of other countries.
Edgeworth returned to the States once again in February 2019, this time as a favor for Phoenix Wright. In a shocking twist of fate, Edgeworth stood in court as a defense attorney in the place of Phoenix, who asked him to defend Iris Hawthorne on his behalf; Edgeworth then asked to have Franziska von Karma prosecute against him to avoid a mistrial, as Edgeworth is not a practicing defense attorney. After Wright's recovery, Edgeworth and von Karma worked with authorities to locate Pearl Fey and Maya Fey.
Edgeworth and Franziska parted ways once again, presumably to continue the work they were doing. Edgeworth's final destination was to the Republic of Borginia and returned to America in March 2019 having finished his research. A large portion of his travels and expenditures came from being sponsored by the Amano Group, as CEO Ernest Amano was a close friend of Manfred von Karma and saw Edgeworth as a son.
