IS-7 The Cold Turnabout (dec 24, 2000 – dec 28, 2001)

Description:

Murder of Paul Halique (under the alias of Artie Frost) by Carmelo Gusto. Defendant is Samson Tangaroa.

- The defense was led by Gregory Edgeworth. The prosecution was led by Manfred von Karma.

- The final case Gregory Edgeworth worked on.

- Since the case was opened before the Initial Trial System was enacted, it went on for a year until the DL-6 incident.

- Samson Tangaroa was forcefully coerced by Manfred von Karma to confess as an accomplice for Halique's murder.

- LAPD claimed to have Halique's body, but this was false. An autopsy report was forged by Chief Prosecutor Excelsius Winner and given to Manfred von Karma.

- Detective Tyrell Badd discovered that Manfred von Karma and Ian Sideman, former detective on the case, had coerced Tangaroa into a confession of being an accomplice to the murder. Sideman was fired for this, and Manfred von Karma received a penalty on his prosecuting record.

- On the day of the crime, the children of Gusto and Halique were held hostage by Halique. The "Blind Assassin" Bodhidharma Kanis happened to rescue them moments before death, and they went on to live at the Happy Family Home.
