Description:

Zheng Fa President Di-Jun Wang was speaking at a ceremony at Gourd Lake commemorating the breakthrough in shutting down the Cohdopia International Smuggling Ring, which had crippled Zheng Fa's economy. While giving his speech, an assassination attempt was made on the president's life by the infamous assassin Shelly De Killer.

Miles Edgeworth learns that the assassination attempt was staged by President Wang and security detail Bronco Knight with the intention of framing reporter Tabby Lloyd as the shooter, all with the goal of raising President Wang's approval ratings in Zheng Fa since he has significantly lost support for his administration.

While President Wang's intention was for nobody to be harmed, Knight arranged for his superior Bastian Rook to be killed as a means of taking his place. Despite Edgeworth's discoveries, the staged attempt was not made public and the media was told that Bronco Knight was the true mastermind of a real assassination attempt.
