Uprise in Poland (jan 1, 1970 – jun 1, 1989)
Description:
It started with when severe food shortages provoked riots in the city of Gdansk. A person came to be a big leader named Lech Walesa. Walesa became involved in anti-Communist union organizing and lost his job after helping to lead a protest in 1976. Walesa's actions caused more uprise with others and resulted in an alliance to form among unions called "Solidarity"
