WW1 began on July 28th, 1914. It began because of the assassination of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Austria had thought that it was all Serbias fault, and so they declared war. The allies in the war were: France, the United Kingdom, Russia, the United States, Italy, and Japan. The Central Powers were: The Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria, Germany, and Austria-Hungary.
