Berlin Blockade (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
The blockade was an attempt made by the Soviets to prevent the U.S., Britain, and France from traveling into Russian - occupied East Germany. Eventually, an airlift was developed. This allowed the delivery of much-needed supplies and relief to West Berlin. This was considered the first major clash of the Cold War.
