Second Crusade (jan 1, 1145 – jan 1, 1149)
Description:
The Second Crusade was the second major excursion to the Holy Land in response to the fall of the County of Edessa in 1144, at the hands of the forces of Zengi. Resulted in a failure to retake Edessa but saw some Crusader victories, such as the capture of Lisbon in 1147. Lasted from 1145 to 1149.
