The Period of Kosátusa (No Emperor) [KugusamKosáTuso] (aug 25, 972 – dec 1, 976)

Description:

After the death of Tusam Tradam Targandam, the election of the new Tusam was so heavily debated that no emperor was elected for 4 years.

During this time period, the powers of the Senate of the Empire (DelíkísamTurkeno) grew larger as the majority of powers that the emperor held was "temporarly" transferred to the 2 Súmdekauvamas. For example, the choosing of provincal leaders was originally done by the emperor was now done by the Súmdekauvam. This power stuck for centuries.
