Description:

Art Nouveau time period was known as the first 'modern' style. This was the first period of design that promoted through communication. It was developed by the Western culture. Part of this era was inspired by the Gothic-era, but near the end of the century designers and artist were looking into the future. The end of the century was the age of innovation. Telephones, electricity, skyscrapers, were all developing into society, "City's were mushrooming". Everything was changing, religion was forming and women's roles were changing. In The Art Nouveau nature, beauty and optimism was emphasized.
