Arts & Crafts Graphic Design Style (jan 1, 1880 – jan 1, 1910)
Description:
The Arts & Crafts design movement started because of the reaction towards the bad quality and style of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. The Arts & Crafts movement gave appreciation to all of the craft workers. This was a movement against the commercial system, they believed that the industrialization alienated labour putting the manufacture and designer at a distance. The head of this movement was William Morris. The Arts & Crafts movement didn't have any type of style but was more leaning towards nature and the simplicity of things. This movement is now known as the bridge between the 'traditional Victorian values' and the 'modern movement'.
