Snowy Mountain Hydro Electric Scheme (oct 17, 1949 – jan 1, 1974)

Description:

This scheme started when Australia rethought about getting a better power force, so they decided to use the Snowy mountains as the power source, using it's irrigation water.
The Snowy Mountain Hydro Electirc Scheme was one of the most complex engineering processes in the world. Between 1949 and 1974, workforces built 7 power stations, 16 dams, 80 kilometres of aqueducts, 145 km of tunnels and 1600 km of roads and railways. Migrants from 30 different countries, made up 65% of the workforce.
