The Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1953)

Description:

A proxy war started by the invasion of South Korea by North Korean soldiers. South Korea was backed by the UN, but most notably by the United States, who supplied the South Koreans with soldiers and equipment. North Korea was backed by both Communist China and the USSR, who supplied equipment to the North Koreans. The war ended in 1953 after a peace agreement between the North and South, and is considered a UN victory, due to them achieving their goals within the countries. The war resulted in the South Koreans maintaining their sovereignty and allowed the citizens to keep their democratic government, freedoms, and other freedoms derived from democracy.
