DeStalinization (mar 5, 1953 – sep 7, 1961)
Description:
The political and cultural process of removing Stalinist policy and ideology. Politically: critically assessing Stalin and absolvement of elite guild and responsibility. Culturally: "cultural thaw" with a general rejection of socialist realism, renewed discussion of formerly taboo subjects, and academic revitalization. Implications of deStalinization were felt across the Communist bloc.
