Post-Crisis (apr 2, 1985 – sep 1, 1994)

Description:

After Crisis on Infinite Earths, only one universe remains, made up of the remnants of the 5 surviving worlds of the Crisis. This world (sometimes referred to as Earth-0) sees the incorporation of various aspects of the surviving worlds into the history of the sole Earth, such as the Justice Society of America existing 20 years prior to the creation of the Justice League of America in the same universe. Almost a decade later, about halfway through this time period, the Zero Hour event occurred, which saw former Green Lantern Hal Jordan possessed by Parallax use his newly obtained powers to reboot the timeline in the way he desired. Though he did not fully succeed, his actions did result in various changes to the DC timeline, such as the return of Barbara Gordon to the mantle of Batgirl and the merging of Carter Hall, the Golden Age Hawkman of Earth-2 with Katar Hol, the Silver Age Hawkman of Earth-1 into one being. Another decade later, the end of this era would be brought about in Infinite Crisis, which would see the partial restoration of the Multiverse in the form of 52 Earths. While the term "Post-Crisis" is used to refer to the entirety of the DC timeline after this event, the following Crisis event, the Zero Hour, has such significant ramifications for the timeline that it becomes necessary to classify the time period between it and the Crisis after that as its own unique time period.
